Care tips
Amaryllis
Put the Amaryllis in a clean vase with no more than 5 cm of water. You can add some special flower food but it is not a must. The bottom part of the stem may turn reddish and curl after a few days, particularly when you put the flower in very cold water, but this doesn't affect the flower. You can stop the curling by putting a piece of tape around this part of the stem but it can also add to the overall effect.

Lily-of-the-valley
Lily-of-the-valley is a perennial plant and can be planted straight into the garden. The upper part of the plant, the leaves, will die and disappear in autumn. The roots are hardy enough to cope with frost and they even need a colder period to grow and give lots of pretty flowers again in spring. They prefer a shady or semi-shady spot, so it's best not to plant them where it gets too sunny.
